on varieties flourishing specifically on our Hood
River estate-Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. With a
defiant streak running through the company, we
began to look for other avenues to be creative…
Sourcing grapes from local growers offers an
opportunity to play with other interesting
varietals. Beginning with two complex blends, an
interesting slice of Prohibition history, and our
namesake peak in the backyard, the Mt.
Defiance Wine Company was born. In each
bottle you will find a beautiful combination of
Rich Cushman’s quality winemaking and our
founding spirit.
